PROPOSAL GENERATION

Objetives:

  • To contribute up-to-date analysis, proposals and solutions to the different governments, political administrations and parties in order to help them in the decision making on family policies and programs.
  • Using media to disseminate information in order to draw attention to family issues, gaining the maximum diffusion and incidence for the proposals sustained by the Institute.

Activities:

  • Research on family issues and repport ellaboration.
  • Collect data on the family through various surveys and studies.
  • Disseminate the results through the publication of books, broachures and repports.
  • Organize courses, seminars and training sessions.

SOCIAL AWARENESS

Objetives:

  • To promote a family perspective in state policymaking.
  • To improve general awareness of and sensitivity to the real strengths and needs of families.
  • To create family-friendly societal conditions that favour families and support their functioning.
  • To reinforce the family values, such as love, unity, solidarity, fraternity, mutual collaboration, intergenerational cooperation,...

And therefore, generating a greater commitment of society in the task of family empowerment.

Activities:

They are based mainly on Campaigns devoted to raising Family Commitment in society, addressing both:

  • Global aspects of the family: the importance of the institution and the vital role of families in society, emphasizing the Annual Day of Families on 15 May.
  • Particular aspects: better manage of work and family responsabilities, family-supportive workplaces, the role of women, rights of the children and the elderly.

DIALOGUE AND NETWORK BUILDING

Objectives:

  • The Intercultural dialogue between either individual people or institutions, mainly at a European and American scope, promoting a better understanding of the family within the diversity of cultures.
  • Creation of networks both with people and institutions belonging to these two continents or wherever other part of the world.

Activities:

  • Seminars, meetings and different exchange experiences that allow either people or institutions to contact among them and to generate academic, cultural and human shearing.
  • Website on the family providing:
  • Access to a broad range of information on activities, documents and research repports, both by the IFP or any other qualified institution.
  • Contact between family institutions through forums, debates, chats, etc.

COOPERATION

Objectives:

  • To develop projects aiming the implementation of family policies in those countries where these are lacking or insufficient.
  • To emphasize the family perspective in development cooperation, ensuring that projects are evaluated with regard for their impacts on families.
  • To support the creation of expert teams helping to start up the different projects for cooperation on social development.
